Todd McGovern, DDS

Dr. Todd McGovern was born and raised in Glendive, Montana. He attended Carroll College in Helena, Montana where he majored in biology and chemistry. He graduated with honors, Magna Cum Laude. Dr. McGovern then studied at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and graduated in 1987 with a doctorate of Dental Surgery degree.

After earning his degree, he established a private practice in Huron, South Dakota providing family dentistry. He and his wife Stacy moved to Fergus Falls in 1989. They have two children, Matthew and Lauren. Dr. McGovern is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association and the West Central District Society.

Dr. McGovern consistently attends continuing education seminars on new dental technologies covering a wide range of topics, including advanced restorative and preventive care. His interest in cosmetic dentistry has been strengthened by several hundred hours of continuing education courses, including graduation in the inaugural class of Level I and II of the University of Minnesota Dental School Postgraduate Program in Esthetic Dentistry. The University honored him as one of only twenty-one doctors to be awarded their Certificate of Achievement. In 2018 he completed training using the Solea All-Tissue Laser.

When not engaged in dentistry, Dr. McGovern enjoys family activities, reading and running. He has benefited from his involvement with several area volunteer organizations including the Lake Region Healthcare Foundation, YMCA, Dollars for Scholars, Kiwanis, coaching youth sports and his church.
