Mitch C. Wellman, DDS

Dr. Wellman is a native of Auburn, Nebraska. He graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a degree in biological sciences. Dr. Wellman then studied at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, graduating in 2008 with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery. He is a 2015 graduate of Great Lakes Implant Institute. Dr. Wellman completed dental implant placement training in 2015 to allow this treatment to be completed in office.

After graduation Dr. Wellman completed a year of advanced training in a general practice residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Dr. Wellman spent time at the Veteran’s hospital and University hospital treating a wide range of patients, both in a clinical setting and in the operating room. Dr. Wellman approaches dentistry with the philosophy of being a wound healer instead of just a person who repairs teeth. Dr. Wellman believes that overall health begins with a healthy mouth as people with a healthy dentition are generally in a state of good physical health.

Dr. Wellman is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association and the West Central District Dental Society. Dr. Wellman is also a member of the Heartland dental study club which is currently one of the largest in the United States of which he obtains twice the amount of continuing education required.

Dr. Wellman enjoys spending time with his wife, Debbie, and his two daughters, Alexis and Cassie. He enjoys outdoor activities of all kinds including fishing, camping, hunting and boating. Dr. Wellman has also started participating in triathlons of various distances including the Ironman which involves swimming, biking and running. Dr. Wellman is excited to be a part of LifeSmiles Dental and the Fergus Falls community. He looks forward to meeting you at your next visit!
