DR. TODD MCGOVERN
Dr. Todd McGovern was born and raised in Glendive, Montana. He attended Carroll College in Helena, Montana where he majored in biology and chemistry. He graduated with honors, Magna Cum Laude. Dr. McGovern then studied at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry and graduated in 1987 with a doctorate of Dental Surgery degree.
After earning his degree he established a private practice in Huron, South Dakota providing family dentistry. He and his wife Stacy moved to Fergus Falls in 1989. They have two children, Matthew and Lauren. Dr. McGovern is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the West Central District Society.
Dr. McGovern consistently attends continuing education seminars on new dental technologies covering a wide range of topics, including advanced restorative and preventive care. His interest in cosmetic dentistry has been strengthened by several hundred hours of continuing education courses, including graduation in the inaugural class of Level I and II of the University of Minnesota Dental School Post-Graduate Program in Esthetic Dentistry. The University honored him as one of only twenty-one doctors to be awarded their Certificate of Achievement.
When not engaged in dentistry, Dr. McGovern enjoys family activities, reading, and running marathons. He has benefited from his involvement with several area volunteer organizations including the Lake Region Healthcare Foundation, YMCA, Dollars for Scholars, Kiwanis, coaching youth sports, and his church.
Dr. Todd's love of dentistry and patient care is evident in his commitment to the building of the new LifeSmiles Dental. "LifeSmiles' goal is to provide beneficial dental care in our state-of-the-art facility to help our patients achieve overall health and wellness. We all focus the practice on our patients concerns with our strongest asset being our experienced and caring team of dental professionals."
MICHAEL J. ANDREWS
Dr. Michael Andrews was born and raised in Fergus Falls, MN He attended the Fergus Falls Community College, Moorhead State University and the University of Minnesota. Dr. Andrews graduated with distinction from the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry in 1993.
After graduating, Dr. Andrews practiced in the Twin Cities providing family dentistry in Columbia Heights and Cottage Grove. At the Cottage Grove clinic he gained experience in treating "TMJ" disorders and Craniofacial pain. He also volunteered for six years at The Community Clinic in Minneapolis providing care to uninsured/low income patients.
Dr. Andrews is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain, the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the West Central District Dental Society.
Dr. Andrews regularly attends continuing education seminars. Topics of interest to Dr. Andrews are Tempormandibular Disorders and pain management, Obstructive Sleep Apnea and snoring, cosmetic dentistry, preventive care and dental emergencies. When not focused on dentistry and managing his dental practice, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Heather and their four children. His hobbies include hockey, boating, outdoor activities, and grilling/dining.
Dr. Andrews believes in, staying up to date on the latest technologies providing quality care in a relaxed atmosphere, and treating patients as he would himself or a member of his family. LifeSmiles commitment to patient care and wellness will keep you smiling for life.
Mitchell C. Wellman
Dr. Wellman is a native of Auburn, Nebraska. He graduated from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a degree in biological sciences. Dr. Wellman then studied at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, graduating in 2008 with a Doctorate in Dental Surgery.
After graduation Dr. Wellman completed a year of advanced training in a general practice residency at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa. Dr. Wellman spent time at the Veteran's hospital and University hospital treating a wide range of patients, both in a clinical setting and in the operating room. Dr. Wellman approaches dentistry with the philosophy of being a wound healer instead of just a person who repairs teeth. Dr. Wellman believes that overall health begins with a healthy mouth as people with a healthy dentition are generally in a state of good physical health.
Dr. Wellman is a member of the American Dental Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and the West Central District Dental Society. Dr. Wellman is also a member of the Heartland dental study club, which is currently one of the largest in the United States.
Away from the office, Dr. Wellman enjoys spending time with his wife, Debbie, and his two young daughters, Alexis and Cassie. He enjoys outdoor activities of all kinds including fishing, camping, hunting, and boating. Dr. Wellman has also started participating in triathlons of various distances, which includes swimming, biking and running. Dr. Wellman is excited to be a part of LifeSmiles Dental and the Fergus Falls community. He looks forward to meeting you at your next visit.
Dr. "Bud" Mellon is a lifetime
resident of the Fergus Falls area. He was born thirty
miles southwest of Fergus Falls in Campbell, Minnesota.
He attended Moorhead State University and the University
of Minnesota. He graduated with honors from the University
of Minnesota's School of Dentistry in 1972.
A strong believer in continuing education,
Dr. Mellon has taken many post-doctorate courses in
cosmetic dentistry, emergency dental treatment, and
preventive dentistry. He's a member of the Lake Region
Hospital Dental Staff, the West Central District Dental
Association, the Minnesota Dental Association, and
the American Dental Association.
When he's not practicing dentistry,
Dr. Mellon is active in the community. He's a member
of the First Lutheran Church and is also an outdoorsman,
enjoying hunting, fishing, and motorcycling. He and
his wife, Linda, have two grown daughters, Sarah and
Dr. Mellon believes it's important to
make high quality dentistry available to all people
by keeping current on the latest techniques and materials,
as well as being accessible to working people who
may find it difficult taking time to see the dentist.
He says, "We pride ourselves
on being available for any type of dental emergency.
Our goal is to help people achieve optimal dental
health for their entire lifetime and make them secure
in the knowledge that we'll always be there to serve
them effectively and courteously."
LifeSmiles Dental is fortunate to benefit
from the specialized services of Patricia Kingston
Dr. Kingston is our visiting periodontist.
She practiced general dentistry in St. Paul and was
on the faculty of University of Minnesota Dental School
for 12 years before returning to further her education
by graduating from the Department of Periodontology.
Dr. Pat has accumulated many awards and honors during
her dental career while remaining a strong believer
in the value of continuing education.
Patients who previously had to travel
out of town for implant or specialized periodontal
care can now be treated here in our office. Dr. Kingston
is skilled at all phases of perio care from examination
and consultation to surgery. A special interest of
hers is dental implant treatment planning and placement.
Dr. Kingston lives in Fergus Falls,
with her husband Tom and big ol' dog Diva. Outside
of dentistry, her passion is competitive ballroom
dancing in which she owns a national title! Her other
interests include sailing, reading & cooking.
Our Practice Administrator
Matt began working for LifeSmiles as the Practice Administrator in 2014, facilitating daily business operations and administrative duties ranging from financials to marketing. Matt strives to improve clinical efficiencies with the goal of optimizing patient care outcomes.
After graduating from Saint John's University in 2012 with a Bachelor's in business management, Matt lived in North Dakota developing a corporate housing company of which he remains a managing partner.
Our Front Office Team
Jami is the office manager and has been keeping LifeSmiles Dental / Westridge Dental Center running smoothly for over 25 years. She also works with your insurance company to get the most out of your benefits and enjoys helping patients have a pleasant dental experience.
Jami and her husband, Mike, have two grown children and 3 grandsons. She likes living on the lake, boating, walking and spending time with her family.
Barb has been working at LifeSmiles Dental / Westridge Dental Center since 1988. As the recall coordinator she has the vital responsibility of overseeing our preventative dental health department and scheduling our patients for their regular cleaning appointments. Her quick wit and fun personality are enjoyed by all.
Barb and her husband, Rick, live on a farm southwest of Fergus Falls. They have three grown children and one granddaughter. Barb enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, scrapbooking, and "junktiquing".
Cheri has worked at the front desk, welcoming
and scheduling patients for more than sixteen
years. It is her friendly voice you often
hear when you call the office.
Cheri is married and has two grown children.
Sherri and her bright smile have been greeting patients and scheduling appointments for LifeSmiles Dental since 2001. She enjoys the friendships she has developed with coworkers and enjoys working with all of our patients.
Sherri and her husband, Dean, live near Dalton. They have four children: Justin (married to Sarah), Tia (married to Brian), Logan, and Cyndal (married to Alex). Grandchildren Kolby, Kamden, Elijah, Wendall and Konnie along with Sherri's brother, Josh, complete the family.
Sherri enjoys spending time with her family and friends, motorcycling, scrapbooking, church activities, and flower gardening.
Trista has been a dental assistant for the past seven years and received her dental assisting degree through Central Lakes College in Brainerd Minnesota. She grew up in Underwood and joined the LifeSmiles Dental Team in June of 2013. In addition to her dental assisting she will be helping with front desk duties such as answering phones, insurance and scheduling.
She enjoys, on her down time, to be with family and friends on the lake, shopping or reading a good book. Trista is excited to start her journey with the LifeSmiles staff.
Ellie joined the LifeSmiles Dental Team in March 2015. She resides in Fergus Falls with her husband, Jesse. You will find her cheerful smile at the front desk when you are in the office and she will be happy to help you in any way she can with your appointments.

Bonnie has been a dental hygienist for sixteen
years. Her favorite part of the job is getting

She, her husband, Gary, and two children
live in Breckenridge, Minnesota. Bonnie enjoys
playing softball in the summer and volleyball
in the winter. She is a Girl Scout leader
and school superintendent at her church. Some

After serving in the United States Air Force, Jennifer started working with Westridge Dental Center in 1996. She then received her dental hygiene degree from North Dakota State College of Science in 1999 and has worked in the dental hygiene department ever since. In 2006, Jennifer returned to college and finished her bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and Management at North Dakota State University. Today, Jennifer continues to pursue her educational desires and has special interest in technical applications and interpersonal communications.
A variety of remodeling projects and athletic training keep Jennifer entertained throughout the year. She also balances time with her children and their activities, leisurely reading, and plays a round of golf occasionally. She and her husband, Soup, reside in Fergus Falls with their four children.
Jennifer is known for her gentle touch and enjoys the diversity the latest technology LifeSmiles Dental provides. She looks forward to helping you with your dental concerns.
Janice joined our team in 2007 with a dental assistant degree from Minnesota State Community & Technical College, Moorhead. She continued her education and received her degree in dental hygiene in 2010. Janice has a special interest in patient education. She feels your dental experience is a reciprocation of teaching as well as learning. Whether during your preventive cleaning or assisting with your restorative needs, Janice is eager to help with your dental questions and concerns.
During her spare time, Janice enjoys coaching for the Minnesota State Community and Technical College Lady Spartans basketball team and coaching a Junior Olympic Volleyball team in Underwood.
Jenny received her degree for Dental Hygiene from Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Moorhead in 2007. She joined our dental team in 2009 and is very dedicated and concerned about patient health, including coaching her patients regarding their overall oral health.
Jenny grew up in Pelican Rapids, MN and is married with a son – Treyton. In her spare time, she enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with friends and family.
Heather received her dental assisting degree from North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton in 2007. She worked for an orthodontist for 3 years before continuing her education. She earned her dental hygiene degree from Minnesota State Community and Technical College, Moorhead in 2012. She joined the LifeSmiles Dental Team in August 2012.
Heather and her husband Ryan recently had a baby girl named Emery. She has brought so much love and joy to our lives. Heather enjoys reading, gardening, farming and spending time with family.

Sofia grew up in Garfield, MN. She received her dental hygiene degree in 2007 from Argosy University/Twin Cities. She worked at an office in Minnetonka her first 2 years of practice. There she learned valuable skills and new practices of dental hygiene that she's been able to carry along with her. Meeting, marrying her husband and moving to Georgia she continued practicing for the 3 years they lived there.
She and her husband Joel moved to Fergus Falls in June, 2012. They are proud parents to two boys. Sofia enjoys knitting, sewing, cooking and baking, outdoor activities and church activities.
She is so glad to work with the skilled team at LifeSmiles Dental and to help take care of patients' oral health needs. She has a gentle touch and a warm welcoming smile.
Diane started in our office the summer of 2014. She is an experienced, personable, dental hygiene professional with a work history across many different settings in Florida, North Dakota and Minnesota. She received her dental hygiene degree from North Dakota State College of Science in 1978 where she also met her husband Brad. They reside in Fergus Falls and are parents to three grown children.

Sue has been a dental assistant since 1975. She has been with LifeSmiles since 1998. She and her husband Tim have 2 sons and daughter-in-laws and 1 daughter. They love spending time at the lake during the summer months.

Nia graduated from dental assistant school in September of 1996. She has enjoyed working at LifeSmiles Dental since August of 1999. Nia's cheerful disposition makes each day a fun-filled experience for staff and patients.
She and her husband, Joel, live in Fergus Falls. They have two children, Logan and Avary. In her spare time, Nia enjoys taking naps, gardening, going to the lake, and playing with the kids.
Lynette graduated in 1975 from the Lakeland
Medical & Dental Academy in Minneapolis.
She has been a dental assistant for the past
34 years and for the past 19 years working
for LifeSmiles Dental/Westridge Dental Center.
The last year she has been assisting Dr. Wellman

Lynette and her husband, Dennis, have two
adult sons, Daniel and David. Lynette likes
to read, bake, and scrapbook in her spare

Jennifer has been a member of

Although she is an assistant, the majority of
her duties involve sterilization and lab work.

nieces, along with many good friends. Her interests
include anything outdoors, especially basketball.
Allie joined the LifeSmiles Dental team May 2013 after receiving her dental assisting degree from the North Dakota State College of Science, Wahpeton. Allie truly loves her dental assisting job and finds it very rewarding when patients have a great dental experience while at our office!
Allie is from the Rothsay, MN area and enjoys living the country life, farming with her family, and spending time enjoying the great Minnesota outdoors!
